Turneffe Flats Lodge, or Tflats, offers just 16 air conditioned rooms on their remote island resort. The eight beach cabanas feature two queen beds or a king bed, private bathroom, and a private deck overlooking the Turneffe Reef and infinite Caribbean. They also feature two 3-bedroom villas and a new 2-bedroom Pelican Villa, which are perfect for families or groups that want to be under the same roof and share a common area together. Each room features a queen bed and twin bed as well as it’s own private bathroom. The living room features satellite TV, small fridge & kitchenette area, and a spacious common room with lots of seating. Each of the villas can be rented for private groups or as individual rooms. As you are isolated out on the atoll, three meals a day and hors d’oeuvres are included in your package but alcoholic drinks are separate.

What started as a 10’x10’ shack for lobster fisherman in the 1970s has blossomed into one of Belize’s most luxurious and exclusive fishing lodges. Tflats boasts a fleet of 16’ Dolphin Superskiffs that were custom built in the US for this type of flats fishing. They are quick and cut through the chop, pole well in shallow water, have large casting platforms, and six rod holders on each boat. The crew of seasoned, local guides are some of the best flats guides in Belize and will be sure to give you opportunities at plenty of fish. While many hardcore fly anglers prefer to bring their own gear, Tflats does have a fully stocked fly shop and top-end rental gear available like Sage rods, Hatch reels, and Simms flats sneakers. If you prefer spin fishing that tackle is also readily available as well. You’ll fish over 400 sq miles and will likely see more tailing fish than you will other anglers.

In addition to world class fly fishing, Tflats has evolved to be a full service adventure destination. The dive shop offers 18 dives a week to over 65 different dive sites around the atoll, including the famous Blue Hole which is only an hour away. With it’s warm, clear shallow water Tflats also offers world class snorkeling. For nature lovers you can spot over 60 species of birds on the atoll, a healthy population of West Indian manatees, bottlenose and spotted dolphins, crocodiles, and much more. You can also go at your own pace and swim in the pool, kayak, or relax on the beach to your heart’s content. The lodge also offers satellite TV to keep up on the news and watch big games, basic internet service for checking emails, spa services, and a small exercise room.
